By now I am sure that most of us have heard about the Provincial Government’s announcement yesterday and the 2-week extension to the “Stay-at-Home” Order. Further restrictions to activities related to the Church become effective Monday, April 19. So, there will be Mass this weekend at the usual times, at 15% capacity. Registration is required. If you were here last weekend, you are automatically considered to be registered. I want to share with you the information we received from our Diocese about Worship and the celebration of the Sacraments. You will find the Memorandum linked below. The most important and basic guiding regulation is this: beginning on Monday, April 19 all churches in the Diocese of Hamilton are closed until further notice. See the Memo for the few exceptions.
The Diocese will send us further clarification soon about the parish office and staffing. We can be sure that there will be no personal visits to the office. Parishioners are asked to the phone the parish office and leave a name, number and brief message, and we will get back to you as quickly as possible. Whether it is for requesting prayers or Mass Intentions, or simply sharing anything you wish about your family and life’s situation, we would be happy to hear from you.
We will continue our Daily Scripture Reflections (and Youtube video), Sacramental Preparation, and virtual youth group. Sunday Mass will be live-streamed, and we, your priests, will celebrate daily private Mass (without the public) for your intentions. The ministries of the Prayer Network and the Rosary Group, as well as the St. Vincent de Paul Society will continue.
In these uncertain times, we lift up one another to the Lord in prayer. If there is anything we can do for you or a loved one, please let us know.
Please be safe: keep healthy and happy, and keep your spirits up.
Take care of yourself and one another. Fr. Brian for the Parish Pastoral Team
