First Reading: Acts 4: 1-12
Ps. 118
Gospel: John 21:1-14
In the first reading from the Acts of the Apostles, the Apostles Peter and John have worked a miracle in the name of Jesus and as a result have been arrested by the temple police. The Holy Spirit tells them what to say to the chief priest in their defense. It is summed in the words of Saint Peter,
"There is no salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved." That name is Jesus Christ.
In the Gospel, we hear of another encounter of the apostles with the Risen Christ by the seashore. Jesus is in his glorified body that can go through doors and still be seen by them as a real person. The apostles had been fishing and caught 153 big fish. That number is meaningful as it is the number of the known countries of the world at that time. This shows that Jesus died for the whole world and that his resurrection is for the whole world, all people and nations. Jesus is our Savior now and forever. Let us again put our trust and faith in Jesus that he will save us from this pandemic and continue to be our Savior. God bless all of you and keep you safe.
