Jesus has come to show us the Way to the place He has prepared for us. If we do not activate our relationship, it will not do us any good. Jesus is the GPS (God Positioning System) which can help us know where we are in our relationship with His Father and how to reach our ultimate destination. The relationship between Jesus and His Father takes center stage in the readings: the first reading summarizes the paschal mysteries of Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection. In John, Jesus speaks of His connection with the God whom He calls Father. He knows He is called to do the will of His Father, to lead His followers into a closer relationship with His Father.
Yes, friends, we must have faith, let go of fear and doubts, and trust him because he leads us into the Kingdom of the Father. The Lord invites us to lift our gaze to immortality. There is no longer much talk of immortality: perhaps due to a lack of terms suitable for today's man, perhaps for fear of slipping into rhetoric, perhaps because having insisted too much on this theme has caused, in the past, not a few distances from earthly reality. We cannot, however, bypass this central knot of our faith completely. We are immortal, with no additives, and our life is a journey of fullness in fullness, a training to welcome if we wish, the totality of God.
The Kingdom is already among us, but there is a dimension of the fullness of the Kingdom that far exceeds our desire and our knowledge. Having faith means believing that there is a destiny of good for each of us, that there is an eternity (which is a way of being, not a boring infinite time!) after this life. Eternal life has already begun and our death will only mark an evolution of our existence! Jesus presents himself as the "way, the truth, the life". Jesus claims to be the answer to man’s needs and expectations, and to be the road that leads to the truth, to be the truth. A strong, shocking, disturbing affirmation. A page, as you can see, that invites us to deepen our faith, to take our journey seriously. Only in this way will we be able to reach the joy of Easter, the interior attitude that leads us to the fullness and happiness of life. May the Lord really grant us to believe in Him!You are the road that leads us to the truth, which gives us life. Praise to you, Lord Jesus!
