First Reading: Ezekiel 37:21-28
Gospel: John 11:45-57
Ezekiel is full of hope and trust in the power of God. He repeats the promise of the Covenant with God "They will be my people, and I will be their God"'. He brings the chosen people the message of unity and hope in salvation and a time full of blessings. They shall live in one land with one king and my servant David shall be their prince forever. It is Christ our Savior who will make this promise a reality with His new Covenant forever.
Jesus just worked a major miracle, the raising of Lazarus from the dead. As a result of His actions the leaders of the Jewish people plotted to kill him. The high priest said "that it was better for you to have one man die for the people”. This leads us to Palm Sunday: will Jesus show up for the Passover or not? We live in hope and this weekend we celebrate with the Mass, the blessing of the palms, and the reading of the Passion of Jesus. Let us be full of hope and continue to prepare for the Feast of Easter. God bless and protect all of you.
