Readings: Ezekiel 47:1-9,12; Psalm 46; John 5:1-16
The first reading from the Prophet Ezekiel speaks to us about God's grace to each and every one of us. It flows like a river and gives us life, that is eternal life. It flows through the seven sacraments which starts with us through our Baptism and then through the rest of the sacraments. So, during this time of Lent let us remember our elementary school students who are preparing to receive First Reconciliation next week.
First Communion and Confirmation, both at St. Joseph and St. Anne, is time for grace to flow and give life.
The Responsorial Psalm tells us that God is our refuge and takes care of us.
In the Gospel Jesus gets in hot water by working a miracle on the Sabbath. He heals the man who was paralyzed. He tells him to take up his mat and walk. Its hard to believe Jesus can get in trouble for doing a good deed. The Jews were looking for a sign to show them that he was the Messiah, and it was right in front of them. Let us never be afraid to do good and follow the example of Jesus. God Bless you and take care. Fr. Tom
