First Reading: Acts 15: 1-6
Psalm 122
Gospel: John 15: 1-8
In the first reading we continue to hear about the success of the spread of the Good News to the non-Jewish peoples of the world. But then some disciples started telling the converts they must follow the law of Moses. So, Paul and Barnabas went to Rome for what was to be the first council of the Church. Again, it was the Holy Spirit who counseled the apostles in their decision. It was God's will that all people are called to salvation. This good news is for you and me because we all share in this call to salvation, people of every land and nation.
In the Gospel we are called to produce good fruit because of our Baptismal call and the call to live our faith every day by doing good works. Jesus says,
"My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples". Especially during this month of May dedicated to Mary our Mother, we are all called to bear fruit by our good work and prayers, especially to those in need. How can we love our neighbor? How can we help them in this time of need?
Happy feast of Our Lady of Fatima. May Mary and Jesus watch over you and keep you safe.
God bless you
