Readings: Job 9:1-12,14-16; Psalm 88; Luke 9:57-62
Today is the Feast of Saint Jerome who, around the year 400, translated the whole Bible into Latin. In the Council of Trent, it was deemed the official Bible of the Church.
Our first reading is a continuation of the Book of Job which speaks of the omnipresence of God and that we are in his hands. God answers our prayers and hear us when we call out to him. Let us continue to pray with confidence to God who knows all that we need for our salvation. Job is an inspiration for us as he never loses confidence and faith in God.
In the Gospel many people want to follow Jesus but they have all kinds of excuses and want to delay their willingness in following Jesus. They are all good reasons in the human mind but Jesus asks them to " go and proclaim the kingdom of God'. We are called to do this every day, like Job, and we do not lose our faith in God. Let us continue to read and hear the word of God and grow in our faith and love of God. Keep well and God bless.
