The first reading is a repeat of the first reading of this past Sunday. The Church wants us to remember those first years of the church at the beginning, after the resurrection. They shared everything and no one was in want of anything. They lived in peace and the apostles were able to spread the glory of the Resurrection of Jesus. It was a great time in the Church before the time of Nero and the beginning of the persecutions against those who believed in the Resurrection of Jesus. This is about the first 33 years of the Church.
The Responsorial Psalm says the Lord is King and His glory is everlasting.
The Gospel tells the story of Nicodemus and the call for baptism. After being born we have to be born again in baptism by water and the Holy Spirit. The reading tells us to look to the cross for our salvation and we will be saved. Again, let us thank Jesus for his gift of Salvation and the promise of the Resurrection. He gave us the church and the sacraments to guide us along our earthly journey. Let us walk in peace and love like the early Christians with one heart and one soul.
