Readings: Isaiah 55:10-11; Psalm 34; Matthew 6:7-15
In our first reading from the prophet Isaiah, we read about the power of God's words. they enrich us with God's love and help in all situations of our lives. God sends his word as a light on our daily journeyback to Him. The reading is short but full of good news.
The response is that "God will deliver the just from all their afflictions."
Our Gospel is also simple, as Jesus teach us how to pray. He gives us the Our Father which has all the elements of good prayer. In it we pray for God's will to be done and to give us our daily bread, which for us as Christians is not only daily food but the gift of the Eucharist. So,4 let us continue to pray for forgiveness, trusting in God's love and mercy, especially during this time of Lent.
