Readings: 2 Cor 5:14-17; Psalm 63; John 20:1,11-18
Today is the feast day of Mary Magdalene mentioned at least three time in the Gospels. She was the first follower of Jesus to see the Risen Lord and run to tell the Apostles. She was brave enough to stand at the foot of the cross at the death of Jesus with the Blessed Mother and St. John. May she also pray for us to be witnesses of the Resurrection of Jesus by our lives.
In the first reading is St Paul is speaking about the love of Christ, urging us also to live our lives according to the words of Christ. His death and resurrection were for the salvation of all of us. We have been set free from sin and death by his love for us. He has made of us a new creation.
Our Gospel tells of the witness of St Mary Magdalene to the Resurrection of Jesus. This account is almost 2,000 years old and has not changed to this day. We are truly blessed by this good news. Let us continue to grow in faith and knowledge and in the promise in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Take care and God bless.
