Our first reading tells us about the first missionary journey of St. Paul and St. Barnabas. This is the beginning of the spread of the Good News beyond Jerusalem and the push to preach to the non-Jewish people of the world. Paul and Barnabas are treated badly by the people at first. Then they begin to gain believers and spread the Good News across the area. And despite the persecutions, they bring this Good News to theChurch in Antioch.
During the Last Supper Jesus gives the disciples peace and tells them he is going to leave them for awhile but that he is coming back in the resurrection and will be with them forever. He calls them to be believers and trust in his words. This belief is held by Blessed Marie-Leonie Paradis who worked tirelessly for others and founded the Little Sisters of the Holy Family.
This gives us strength to follow in the faith of Blessed Marie-Leonie and the apostles in the spread of the Gospel by the example of our lives. The Last Supper seemed like the end of the story but it was just the beginning. All of you keep the faith and spread it when you can.
