Readings: Ecclesiastes 1:2-11; Psalm 90; Luke 9:7-9
Our first reading is probably written about 3 centuries before the birth of Jesus. It is an essay on the topic "Is life worth living?". The answer strangely is in the negative. Nothing seems to count for the author of the book. But we Christians have hope in the words of the new testament and the teachings of Jesus. So, let us not lose hope in the future and the promises of Jesus.
The Gospel, reading is about King Herod and his curiosity about Jesus and who he is. Is he a returned prophet, especially John the Baptist returned from the dead? He was afraid and wanted to meet Jesus by himself. This shows us that God can do all things to bring out his salvation. The king met Jesus at his passion and could not put his faith in Jesus. On the contrary we believe and put our faith in Jesus. Let us keep believing until we meet Jesus face to face. Keep strong and God bless all of you.
