The Book of Youth (As we have named our youth group, after our chapter in the ongoing Acts of the Apostles) has moved online during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Currently we meet Fridays via Zoom at 7 pm.
This group is open to any youth in grades 5 and up during the 2020-2021 school year. Please email our youth minister Mary at [email protected] for permission forms, more information, and a link to the Zoom meeting.
Coming this October, St Anne and St Joseph parishes will be partnering for a twice-monthly youth group on Friday evenings from 6-8:30. The group is open to anyone in grades 5-8 or above. First Fridays we will meet in the St Anne hall, and third Fridays at St Joseph.
Suggested contribution is $2 per meeting, and dinner is always included! Expect a mix of games, sports, prayer, hands-on activities and fun with new and old friends. Our first meeting is Friday, October 4 at St Anne.
This spring, St Anne Parish is partnering with St Joseph Church to hold THINKfast - a fundraiser for Development and Peace. This year, THINKfast will be at St Joseph church from 6 pm on Friday April 5 to 7:30 pm Saturday April 6. Young people in grades 6-12 have the option of staying overnight, and those in grades 1-5 are invited from 2-7:30 pm on Saturday.
This event is an opportunity to gather together, learn, play games, raise money and awareness for an excellent cause, and have a lot of fun sleeping over at the Church. While we do all of these things, we also fast, to experience a small amount of what those living without secure access to food experience.
THINKfast events have been held throughout Canada for over 25 years. We hope you will consider joining St Anne's first. More information is included in the below document for our THINKfast, as well as a permission form.
If you would like to be part of our fast, please RSVP to Mary ([email protected] or 519--745-5302 ext 202) by March 25 so we can support you with fundraising and prepare for the right number of participants.
Please support our youth in their efforts. Pray for us, and consider donating at www.devp.org/thinkfast/2417
